One of the things we often hear from the Jacob’s Well community is that people want to know how to get involved at Jacob’s Well. It’s gratifying that so many of you are invested enough to continually seek ways to contribute and serve. Thank you.
As we did last year, we are inviting everyone to be part of a discernment process at Jacob’s Well that will help us identify qualified people who can serve as Elders. To be clear, we are asking you to make recommendations of people who meet the qualifications we are looking for in elders and the reality is that we’ll certainly have more names than available positions to fill.
For this process, we will be adding new elders towards the end of the summer/early fall. The process will work like this. Hard copies of the recommendation forms are available on the bulletin board in the foyer. You can also download the form here on our website or complete the form online. Instructions for returning the form are included on the form. In order for us to consider someone, we’d like you to fully fill out the recommendation form for that person. If you are interested in being an elder, we ask that you ask someone to fill out a recommendation for you. During summer, the elders will consider everyone who meets the qualifications and enter into a more intense discernment process. Once we narrow the initial list of people, we will ask these individuals to fill out an application. From there we will interview candidates and finally vote for who will be joining us for a three-year term.
In the meantime, we’d also ask that you join us by praying for God’s guidance and wisdom as we engage this process. We are confident that who we need is right here among us. If you have further questions feel free to talk to any of the elders.

Kids’ Community & Youth need volunteers. This is not your typical “Sunday School” and is more a chance to form relationships with children, youth, parents, and others from our community. If you are willing to teach, mentor, lead workshops, or simply be with our students on Sunday mornings, contact Candace.
